You probably know what food you need to eat and what food you need to avoid. But despite this, there’s one problem that most people face: You can’t get yourself to eat right. Some people say, it’s harder to change someone’s diet than it is to change their religion. That’s because we don’t just eat food for survival. We also eat it for the emotions that we get from it. In general, it’s best not to be overly idealistic about your diet (to a certain extent).
You need to try to eat as healthily as you possibly can, while being realistic. Honestly, we all know what foods to avoid and It’s better if you fully avoid these foods, but if you can’t get yourself to do it, you can make small exceptions, Because it’s better to make small, reasonable exceptions, while following your Diet, than to get discouraged, and not follow the diet at all. For example, you can have wild salmon, grass-fed animal meat or pasture-raised eggs, if they are organic and from a high-quality source. It can also be acceptable to drink organic coffee, as long as you keep it to a maximum of one cup a day (Bear in mind that if you drink a cup of coffee, you should add at least one extra cup of pure water to your daily liquids). Also, you need to remove a common limiting belief. Which is that unhealthy food tastes good, and healthy food doesn’t. This is absolutely not the case.
Firstly, you only crave unhealthy food because your body has been conditioned to it. Once you get used to eating healthy, your body will no longer “ask” for unhealthy food, and in fact, it will become repulsed by it.
Secondly, healthy food can taste good, even better than unhealthy food. You just need to learn to prepare it right. Ask yourself before making or eating anything, is this even food? Real Food? And will my body even recognize it as food? That’s why I recommend you learn how to cook delicious, healthy food, as this is a skill you will need for the rest of your life.
